Hi again! Here’s my chance to tell you a little bit more about my path as a design anthropologist and civic designer.
I am originally from Brazil where I started my professional journey with a BA in Social Science at PUC - São Paulo. After working a few years with cultural and consumer behavior research in the private sector, I decided to take the tools I’d been learning to the next level.
In 2014 I moved to NYC to pursue an MA in Anthropology at The New School for Social Research. From the get go I knew I wanted to take my studies in anthropology to a practical field, and design for social innovation was where I wanted to establish my practice. For this to work and get shaped, I joined studio classes at Parsons The School of Design, and was part of a Civic Innovation Transdiciplinary Lab.
After graduating, I joined the Municipal Jersey City Office of Innovation as their civic designer, in an in-house consulting team, part of Bloomberg Philanthropies I-teams program.
Since I always loved experiencing new cultures and challenging myself around the world, after finishing my role at the JCOI, I moved to Israel where I joined another Bloomberg Philanthropies I-team. The City of Beer Sheva and its Urban Innovation Team were my new home and for two and a half years I was their service designer. There I developed my skills as an anthropologist, researcher, civic designer and strategists on public policy and organizational change.
Currently, I’m based in Tel Aviv, where I continue my professional journey working at the Hazira team on establishing new municipal innovation labs around the country. In addition to that, I also teach in a human-centered design and innovation studio program at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, in partnership with Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva.
In this website I’m proud to share part of the impactful work I’ve been doing in the past years. I see on each one of my projects, the manifestation of my interdisciplinary and multicultural point of view. Hope you enjoy and feel free to contact me at any time!
